When the Toledo Museum of Art acquired ten one-of-a-kind artist's books from Ohio artist Aminah Robinson, they challenged Glue + Paper Workshop to conceive, design and produce "something that would replicate the experience" of looking through the button encrusted, beaded, painted, collaged and stitched pages of the original volumes. The Ragmud Collection, recently published for an exhibition of Robinson's books, is a collection of six sewn folios—each featuring fold outs, pockets, flaps, and die cuts—all gathered in an embossed wrap. Glue + Paper Workshop's experience with paper engineering, sourcing, and alternative binding methods was key to successfully translating the handmade quality of Robinson's work into a visually stunning, yet affordable printed product.
